Ravenstonedale Moor
Length: 2.06 miles (3.300 km)
Relatively undefined moorland crossing, with wooden deck at point where it crosses wetland area at parish boundary.
West section of route in Orton parish crosses SSSI.
Increasing number of waterlogged cross drains. Some ruts and corrugations. Route is deteriorating.
Waterlogged cross drains and enlarging wet areas are causing users to ride/drive around them. Consequently in some locations the route is widening out and encroaching into habitat.
Some indication that route is being used by a small number of 4x4s.
Consideration should be given to 4×4 use being controlled by TRO.
