Condition:
From the South, route starts as a sandy track leading to stream crossing. Then becomes hard compact sands which are tidal. Close to shore very rocky, with lots of rock pools. Route will become washed away with each tide. Heading towards Askham Pier there is only one way past & that is to follow the sandy trail under pier. This is above high water line. This then follows a visible trail for a few metres before turning back into a tidal section. The exit is at Duddon Road. Exit currently blocked with boulders but passable by motorbike. 4WD traffic will have to turn around and exit at the South.
Sensitivity: Weather
The route is mostly tidal so any evidence of vehicular traffic will wash away with each tide. Is is not apparent that this route is heavily used.
