Good condition from Gawthwaite to last field, then some rutting
Surface repairs completed 2020 on northern end. Surface now good and drainage generally working
Surrounding hillsides are SSSI designation, stay on the trail only
Drystone walls are falling down in fields.

Farmers at both ends are concerned, be polite and stay on marked trails. Cattle and sheep all around, be aware and travel steadily. You will encounter horse riders and cyclists
